The Waterboys — “Fisherman’s Blues”

A family dance party totally went down today to this song. It was a beautiful thing.

The Frames — “Rise”

I always love hearing songs that I already adore on the shows I watch. It’s such a lovely surprise — Castle played this one a couple of nights ago and I literally squealed with excitement.

Frank Sinatra — “Come Dance With Me

Dear Sexy Dance Teacher,

This is for you.

P.S. I love you.

Dead Man’s Bones — “Name in Stone”

I looked these guys up because, let’s face it, I have an unhealthy obsession with Ryan Gosling. But, they’re actually…good. I don’t know why I’m surprised.

Phoenix — “1901”

This is seriously making me want to be back in Paris right now.

Penny and the Quarters — “You and Me”

Just saw Blue Valentine last night. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know what this song means. If you haven’t seen it, GO DO SO!

Blitzen Trapper — “Furr”

For some reason this is stuck in my head. It reminds me of summertime.

Ben E. King — “Stand By Me”

I love this song because:
1) It is the theme song for Stand By Me — one of my favourite movies.
2) In high school, a boy sang this for a girl in front of the entire school and it was magical. Yes, that’s right, magical.

Local Natives — “Warning Sign”

Nice cover!
